The closest airports to Sirolo are
Ancona - 30 min drive (London Stansted)
Pescara Abruzzo - 1 hr 30 drive (London Stansted)
Bologna - 2 hr 30 drive or similar by train (Dublin and London)
If you are coming from outside Europe the two main airports for international flights are Milano Malpensa and Roma Fiumicino.
If flying from within Europe, there are also airports at Florence, Naples, Bergamo, Pisa, Venice and Verona.
Below are details on how to reach Sirolo from the airports, but if there is a large group flying from Dublin to Bologna or London to Ancona close to the wedding date, we can arrange group transport.
Car rental is available at all the airports and there is a good motorway network between all the cities. Sirolo is 10 minutes from the E55 (A14) motorway or you can take the national route SS16 along the sea.
When booking accommodation check if parking is available as parking can be difficult to find, particularly, in Sirolo and Numana as they are small. There are though large car parks on the outskirts of each open during the summer season.
Trains in Italy are very easy to use and have good services.
The closest station to Sirolo (10 minute drive) is Osimo-Castelfidardo. Direct trains from Milan and Rome arrive here.
Ancona, the largest town next to Sirolo (30 minute drive) also has a train station and there are direct trains from Bologna, Rome, Milan and Venice. You can get connecting trains to Ancona through these cities from others, for example Florence or Pisa.
This can give you more options for flights to different airports or if you are hoping to extend your trip for a holiday.
Train tickets can be booked here
www.trenitalia.com
Buses run from Ancona and Osimo Castelfidardo to Sirolo, but let us know when you are arriving and we can come pick you up.
If you would like to try the bus though, the official bus site is here: https://www.conerobus.it/en
If possible we would recommend staying in Sirolo, Numana or Marcelli areas. It is a 10 minute walk between the main squares in Sirolo and Numana, with Marcelli a further 25 minute walk along the sea.
The area is a very popular holiday destination. This means that there are lots of accommodation options, from campsites, apartments to guesthouses and hotels. But August is also a very busy period! So if you are hoping to join us, we would advise you to book early so you can have the best options.
There is currently accommodation available online, but many more agencies and accommodation providers update their sites for the summer season in January.
Accommodation in Sirolo and Numana due to their size tend to be hotels/guesthouses and smaller apartments. For larger houses or apartments, you would need to look in Marcelli.
Typically accommodation is rented by locals during the summer for week long blocks of Sunday to Sunday. If you are interested in staying for this length of time, let us know and we can put you in contact with local estate agents. Although not flexible for arrival/departure dates, if you are thinking about having a longer stay, this option can work out best.
If you are planning on a shorter stay and/or want more flexibility with dates the best option would be to book through Airbnb, Booking.com etc.
Just a short drive from Sirolo in the countryside, there are also many places to stay (usually larger) with beautiful views of the sea and mountains. If staying outside the towns though, please take into consideration you will need your own transport as there are no footpaths or public transport into the town centres.
As it will be summer season a shuttle bus will be running regularly between the towns and the beaches, or are easily accessible by car (although parking in the the centre of Sirolo and Numana can be difficult due to their size).
Important to clarify, unfortunately Marcelo does not own Marcelli, he would like to but maybe one day!
Below are some sites to find accommodation.
